It always ends with us agreeing to disagree since Chicago is and will always be my first home in the US. If you are like me and you love looking at city skylines, Chicago has a beautiful skyline to see.

If youre looking to simply get a beautiful view or want photos with the Chicago skyline, here are some places to visit.

North Ave Beach

North Ave Beach is right by Lincoln Park Zoo, but its right by the lake. It has a walkway that extends out to the lake where you can get the most beautiful view of the city skyline. This spot is a famous spot for engagement photos and I can understand why.

Highly recommend photos here at sunrise or sunset.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo is more than just a zoo. Take the nature board walk to the bridge or the honeycomb and youll see a beautiful skyline view. It truly makes for beautiful photos or just a beautiful view.

I especially love this area because you can walk around or sit at the nearby park and enjoy nature. Its also very close to the lake .

Navy Pier

I think Navy Pier goes without saying. Its a great place for friends and familylocal vendors and a childrens museum. There are often shows there too!

If you want, get on the Ferris wheel for an extra view of the city.

Montrose Park

This beach front is further north from downtown but still offers a beautiful skyline nonetheless. You also get the beautiful blue lake. The park has plenty of greenery where you can sit, picnic, or walk on the trail. Highly recommend this view at sunrise or sunset.

Where To Stay In Chicago For The Best Views

Chicago downtown 4K drone/Chicago skyline Aerial view

Following New York City and Los Angeles, Chicago is the third-largest city in the US. The city comprises 77 community areas that are considered to belong to 9 districts within which you will find additional neighborhoods.

The most central area is the Chicago Loop, or Downtown Chicago, with River North and Streeterville sitting the location of the Magnificent Mile to the north. For a more detailed insight into where to stay in Chicago, you can read my complete guide to the best 8 areas to stay in Chicago.

But where will you find the hotels with best views in Chicago?

First, youre going to get a choice of what view you actually want from your room: the city skyline, the vast expanse of Lake Michigan, or the Chicago River.

Chicago Loop does provide incredible views of the city skyline. However, because youre right in the thick of it, you might find that youre almost too close. Whereas the Streeterville and River North neighborhoods provide more of a perspective of the cityscape while being super close to the heart of the action.

Just north of Chicago Loop and Streeterville, Gold Coast is in a prime position for exploring the beaches that flank the perimeter of Lake Michigan. You can find some of the best Chicago hotel views here as they often give you the choice of a city panorama or views of the lake.

With an idea in mind of how the city is laid out, lets dive into the Chicago hotels with the best views!
