NBC no longer exists outside the Americas as a channel in its own right. However, NBC News and MSNBC programs are broadcast for a few hours a day on OSN News, formerly known as in Africa and the Middle East. Sister network also broadcasts occasional breaking news coverage from MSNBC as well as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. CNBC Europe also broadcast daily airings of NBC Nightly News at 00:30 CET Monday to Fridays.
NBC Super Channel becomes NBC Europe
In 1993, then-NBC parent General Electric acquired Super Channel, relaunching the Pan-European cable network as NBC Super Channel. In 1996, the channel was renamed , but was, from then on, almost always referred to on-air as simply “NBC”.
Most of NBC Europe’s prime time programming was produced in Europe due to rights restrictions associated with U.S. prime time shows the channel’s weekday late-night schedule after 11:00 p.m. , however, featured The Tonight Show, and , which the channel’s slogan “Where the Stars Come Out at Night” was based around. Many NBC News programs were broadcast on NBC Europe, including Dateline NBC, Meet the Press and NBC Nightly News, the latter of which was broadcast simultaneously with the initial U.S. telecast. Today was also initially aired live in the afternoons, but was later broadcast instead the following morning on a more than half-day delay.

In tonights Chicago Fire episode, Brett was still reeling from her breakup. She had broken up with the love of her life. She didnt break up with Casey because she stopped loving him. She chose to end things because he was half a country away and she couldnt keep doing long-distance. She did however leave the door open in the future. If Casey decided to come back to Chicago after his foster kids were all older, she will happily get back together with him and so the future was open. Theres no telling what could happen one day. Brett was hoping that there was a future and she was admittedly feeling a little blue in the meantime.

Cue the waterworks, kids.
Chicago Fire Season 7 Episode 1, A Closer Eye, ends with a bit of a twist and more closure than we expected for Matt Casey and Gabby Dawson.
Is it enough? No, not really. But its pretty darn close.
We learned after the Chicago Fire Season 6 finale that Monica Raymund was leaving the series, which suggested that we wouldnt see her at all this season and that the farewell to her character would be her accepting the chance to help in Puerto Rico.
Thankfully, we get a more proper goodbye on this season premiere.
Its a happy surprise first to see Gabby talking to Matt via Facetime, but for her to arrive at the end, giving the two the chance to have an on-screen goodbye that shows the love they have for one another its incredibly satisfying.
Its also heartbreaking, because you can still see the love they have for each other, but by the end, that wasnt enough.
Jesse Spencer, in particular, does an impeccable job of conveying a whole range of emotions, not only there, but throughout the entire episode, including at the beginning when he acts too quickly on a call.
Weve seen these firefighters make risky and impulsive decisions before, and weve seen them go against protocol Severide even does it later on this episode but this time is different. Its not just impulsive its reckless. Its just as Severide says, he reacts like someone who has a death wish.

The Chicago Fire season premiere proved that the time away was not kind to Firehouse 51. More than one character had to handle something not turning out the way that they wanted or needed, so how did they adapt?
A Closer Eye went literal with its opening, giving us a close-up look into Caseys eyes as he dealt with a Dawson-less existence, two months after she left. Sylvie Brett was brooding, too, having flashbacks to her fight with Dawson.
And the rest of the crew were wondering why Chief Boden had chosen not to come forward with the evidence of now-Commissioner Grissoms crimes. Boden called Brett into his office to tell her she couldnt keep sending away new partners.

He let her know that Emily Foster was staying no matter what, and then informed the rest of Firehouse 51 that Connie had left to become head of the counseling department at a local magnet school.
I didnt get a chance to say goodbye, a shocked Christopher Herrmann said. None of us did.
And we all cried for a moment, because we all still miss DuShon.
Then Foster, only three months into being a paramedic, rushed into the briefing. She didnt get to be embarrassed that long because the bells went off, sending the entire crew to a rescue call.
After Casey just narrowly avoided being flattened, Severide suggested that he had a death wish. Casey didnt respond, just walked off looking dazed and confused.

This is an extended family and everyone inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other. Lt. Matthew Casey leads the Truck Company and brash Lt. Kelly Severide runs the Rescue Squad.
The firehouse also includes Battalion Chief Wallace Boden , a firemans fireman. As chief of 51, Boden keeps his house running smoothly and his firefighters prepared to overcome all adversity. Gabriela Dawson returns alongside Paramedic Sylvie Brett , seasoned veteran Christopher Herrmann and resourceful firefighter Stella Kidd .
Also returning for the sixth season are Randy Mouch McHolland , Joe Cruz and Brian Otis Zvonecek .
In addition to Wolf and Haas, executive producers include Todd Arnow, Andrea Newman, Michael Gilvary, Michael Brandt, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski.
