Chicago Fire/pd/md: The 10 Best Crossover Episodes According To Imdb
The Chicago franchise has expanded to include Fire, PD, and MD, with crossover episodes becoming a fan-favorite mainstay in all the series.
Having begun in October 2012 with Chicago Fire, the Chicago franchise is now close to 9 years old. Given the strong ratings of each of the shows, there are no signs of things stopping anytime soon. Also known as “One Chicago,” the franchise has done an excellent job of portraying fictional but realistic events revolving around Chicago’s public events.

Only one show in the franchise failed to become popular, leading to its cancellation after only one season. As of May 21, 2020, when all the shows completed their latest seasons, there have been a total of 491 episodes in the franchise. Most of the episodes have been great but a few crossovers really stood out.
The Abduction Scene Of Nadia Decotis Is Hard To Watch
Nadia Decostis started as a recurring character in “Chicago P.D.” that soon became a fan-favorite thanks to her character arc in the series. She’s introduced in the show as a troubled teenage sex worker and drug addict, but works hard to transform her life. By Season 2, Nadia has completely transformed her situation, and even worked her way up as an administrative assistant for the Intelligence Unit, with aspirations to become a cop. Basically, Nadia is a complex and multifaceted character who is consistently growing. That’s why her abduction scene in the Season 2 Episode “The Number of Rats” by serial killer Gregory Yates is hard to watch. Nadia’s kidnapping is the cliffhanger prelude to her tragic and grizzly fate on the “SVU” Episode “Daydream Believer,” where we learn that the serial killer has sexually assaulted and murdered her.
The fate of the character being so unnecessarily gratuitous is already difficult to stomach, but what’s also makes the scene so hard to watch is that it was done strictly to create a plot link between “Chicago P.D.” and “Law & Order: SVU.” It’s as if the killer’s other victims, who also suffer horrible fates, weren’t enough to justify the crossover. “Chicago P.D.” showrunner Matt Olmstead told The Hollywood Reporter that Nadia’s demise was never really initially planned, but a personal stake was needed to bring the two police units together for a case.

Whos New To The Chicago Pd Cast
Amanda Payton made a splash as Celeste, a woman who starts dating Atwater but dumps him when she finds out that hed been keeping his profession a secret. While she was introduced and written off within the span of a few episodes, Atwater was shown leaving her a voicemail in a later episode suggesting that we havent seen the last of her.
Then theres Anna Avalos , the informant with a checkered past who instantly develops a bond with Voight . She was the most significant addition to the cast in season 9, but she was also its biggest loss, as she was shot and killed in the finale.
A Little Devil Complex
Antonio and his sister Gabriela go to the office of Elliot Gish , the man they believe started the fire that killed Shay. Intelligence along with patrol officers Burgess and Roman put pressure on Gish to try and make him confess. Lindsay approaches Voight about returning to Intelligence when she realizes that the task force isnt what she thought it would be. At the same time Desk Sgt. Platt is acting strange and has everyone curious as to why shes being overly cheery, friendly and nice.

Chicago Pd Season 9 Episode 2 Recap
Voights decision makes sense tactically, but its clear that his underlying motive is to keep Burgess in the field. He previously caught wind of Ruzeks inquiry for a desk job, and he fears that Burgess making a knee jerk decision could result in long term hang-ups. Burgess is frustrated with Voights demands, but she agrees, and shares a heart-to-heart conversation with Sara that taps into her newfound insecurities.
Fortunately, Burgess remains as sharp a detective as ever, and shes able to determine that the culprit between Evas death and Saras attack is their shared parole officer. The team are able to apprehend the P.O. and Burgess is able to regain some of her confidence as an investigator. The episode doesnt try to make any declarative statements regarding the characters future, as theres still plenty that shes going to have to figure out.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Squarciati revealed her characters plans to go undercover in season 9, all but guaranteeing a return to the field. Shes going undercover, and its pretty great, both for me as an actor and Burgess she added. She sort of taps into an undercover role that shes never been given on the team.

What Could Be The Plot In Chicago Pd Season 9 Part 2
As we have said, Dick Wolf is the creator of this Chicago-based series because he wanted to show the life of the police heroes who made the city run, but more than that, he wanted to make it as realistic and interesting as possible. Guidance is based on various criminal organizations and major crime investigators operating outside the scenes apart from the Law & order, the police are no more than a threat and are always under control.
Although, the episodes are hosted by the act of Hank Voight by Jason Beghe, who said apart from taking the bad guy officially he has a soft spot for the victims so far. Also, we get to see him abuse his power in the fire game of Chicago. Another character includes a bought friend Alvin Olinsky played by Elias Koteas, who is an undercover agent and seems more trustworthy than Voight. He is an expert trainer and manages to nourish a rookie and possibly his place was eventually played by Patrick Flueger.

Chicago Pd Season 2 Episode 24 Review: Born Into Bad News

Poor Lindsay. She is a complete mess right now and no one knows how to help her.
It’s definitely not for lack of trying as Voight and Halstead both gave it their best shots. Unfortunately, she’s not ready to hear them yet.
Will they be able to get through to her before it’s too late? We’ll have to wait until next season to find out because Chicago PD Season 2 Episode 24 ended with her turning in her badge.
I have to say, the promo was a little misleading. I was under the impression Lindsay was going to lose control and unjustly shoot someone, but that wasn’t what happened. She may have been under the influence, but her shot saved a kid.
When Lindsay walked into that bathroom to take the drug test, I was expecting her to take out a clean sample that she might have gotten from someone. Instead she skipped the test and came clean to Voight in one of many emotional scenes.
Voight’s solution was to have a doctor backdate a prescription for whatever pills she took. What would he have done if her recreational drug use hadn’t been pharmaceuticals? She’s lucky to have someone who cares so much about her. I hope she remembers that soon.
Lindsay has had a lot of guns pointed at her lately. At least this time she wasn’t asking anyone to shoot her. She looked genuinely scared, so that’s something. She doesn’t want to die.

The final part of the crossover event finds our intelligence unit joined by detectives from New Yorks special victims unit to help solve the pedophile ring case. Ruzek and Det. Amaro along with Halstead and Antonio continue to hunt for the link to foster care and child trafficking. Meanwhile Burgess and Roman try to find the shooter from the hospital after using surveillance footage to identify him. Platt shows her deep respect for police and the dangerous work they do by honoring their fallen brother.

Whos Leaving Chicago Pd
The biggest departure heading into Chicago PD season 10 thus far has been Carmela Zumbado, who will not be returning as Anna Avalos. While disappointing, her exit is not too surprising given her character was killed off in the season 9 finale.
Though there was never a formal announcement from NBC, Nicole Ari Parker also seems to have exited the series with her character First Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller not appearing on the show since the season 9 premiere.

Who Died On Chicago Pd
The episode, titled Me and You, opens with the confirmation that Upton is fine. She was caught in an explosion during last weeks episode, and the cliffhanger ending didnt make it clear as to whether she would have any major injuries. It turns out shes just motivated to arrest Escano, whos still on the run.
Voight is desperate to bring Anna Avalos in, but their communication is shot because she discovered he was hiding information from her. He tries to pull every favor he can in an effort to track Escano down, and he eventually does though not in the manner he expected. Voight and Halstead find Escano on the floor of his bakery, shot and bleeding to death.
Escano reveals that Anna stabbed him with his dying breath, which puts Voight in the difficult position of having to put out an arrest warrant on someone he considered to be a confidante. Its clear that Anna has stopped trusting him, and has decided to go off the reservation in an attempt to protect herself.

Voight goes as far as to order the team to clean up the evidence linking Anna to Escanos murder. This order leads to a divide within the IU, with Halstead and Upton deciding to follow Voight and make sure there wasnt a repeat of the Roy situation from last season.

What Happened On Chicago Pd Season 9 Episode 2
Trauma is the overriding theme of the latest Chicago PD episode. The episode doesnt shy away from the traumatic feelings that Burgess is dealing with after getting shot in the season 8 finale. In fact, it cleverly incorporates them into the story, further muddling Burgess confusion as to whether she should get a desk job or get back in the field.
There are other character arcs and subplots that get hinted at throughout the episode, but the primary focus is on Burgess, and the psychological crossroads she finds herself at. Given the amount of press that Squerciati has been doing, its a safe to assume fans are getting a Burgess-centric season of Chicago PD.

What Puts You On That Ledge
Antonio heads undercover with a dangerous robbery crew after a narcotics officer goes missing. Commander Fischer updates Voight on a missing officer that Narcotics had deep undercover with a robbery crew. Antonio connected with one of the crew members years ago, so hes asked to reestablish contact to help them find the officer. Meanwhile, Roman and Burgess are dealing with a squatter situation and they enlist Chicago Fires Mouch to help. Also starring Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick Flueger, Elias Koteas, LaRoyce Hawkins and Amy Morton. Monica Raymund, Caleb Hunt, and Peter Jacobson guest star.

Images Chicago Pd Season 2 Episode 11 We Dont Work Together Anymore
NBC has unveiled a collection of new images from Chicago PDs upcoming We Dont Work Together Anymore.
Airing Jan. 14 the cross-over episode sees the Intelligence unit coming to the aid of the feds in an operation to take down a drug cartel at its source.
Meanwhile, Lindsay has her first case with the task force and realizes she needs to call on Voight and the Intelligence unit to assist.
And following her near fatal shooting, Burgess is back on the job, but relegated to desk duty which allows Desk Sgt. Platt the opportunity to partner up with Roman .
The Chicago Pd Season 2 Scene That Might Have Gone Too Far
In 2012, “Chicago Fire” made its debut on NBC. The series not only served as another hit for creator Dick Wolf, but it also began the “One Chicago” franchise of shows, which includes “Chicago P.D.” The latter show, which first arrived in 2014, centers on a police unit within the famous Windy City.
Much like its television cousins in the “Law & Order” series, “Chicago P.D.” provides a steady flow of intense police action and drama. That being said, many of the cases that the team on “Chicago P.D.” handles can be significantly disturbing … and the series isn’t shy about providing some of the saddest deaths in the “One Chicago” Universe. That being said, in Season 2, “Chicago P.D.” decided to combine a disturbing case along with a tragic death, all while managing to do some crossover episodes with “Chicago Fire” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
The three crossover episodes involved the hunt of a sadistic serial killer. The special team-up between the three series made for an intriguing TV event. Yet, the crossover episode from “Chicago P.D.” also gave the series a scene that might have gone too far, thanks to the demise of a beloved character.
