Chicago Restaurants With A Lake View

I’m headed to Chicago soon and I’m looking for an upscale, fine dining Italian restaurant and/or another restaurant that would have a spectacular view of the city and/or the lake from high above. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

How upscale?

Spiaggia looks out over Lake Shore Park, which separates East Lake Shore Drive from Oak Street Beach. Spiaggia is easily one of the top 10 restaurants in the city.

There’s an old saying that good restaurants don’t have views . Spiaggia is one of the few exceptions to this rule.

Best view in the city is by far the Signature Room in the Hancock Building. It’s on the 95th floor, so you’ll have views of the lake and the city.

Price wise, dinner will run about $35-$40 for your entree. Full menu is available at their website:

The food is good, not great. You could find a better meal in the city for the same price, but the view makes up for it.

Another popular thing to do is just go up there to the bar for a drink, rather than a full on dinner.

Not Italian , but Everest has nice city views and is certainly upscale.

Riva at Navy Pier offers outstanding views. This restaurant is an especially good choice on fireworks night as diners have a front row view. Food is good .
