Top Things To Consider When Booking A Private Dining Room
When booking a private dining room in The Windy City, youll have lots to think about in addition to the tone you want to set. Naturally, laying eyes on your intended venue is always best, so think about the questions youll want to ask before you sign the dotted line.
Is this spot totally private or semi-private? If you are planning something very exclusive or special, you might want a space that doesnt mix with the rest of the restaurant. On the other hand, perhaps your event would benefit by feeding off the energy of the dinner crowd, so consider semi-private option instead.
What is the size of my crowd?Make sure to do an accurate head count, especially if you are hosting a sit down dinner. And in the day and age of social distancing, it might not be a bad idea to have a space that allows for a little extra elbow room.
What tech do I need?If your private dining brunch is a product launch, youll want to make sure you have all the tech capabilities on hand so the rollout goes off without a hitch. If your dinner is a recap of your fiscal year and your deck is raring to go, make sure you have a screen and the hook up you need to show off all those charts.
What will it take for my guests to get to the location? If your crowd isnt familiar with the city of Chicago, make sure the spot youve landed on is easy to find and consider providing transportation. Or if everyone is coming from out of town, select a restaurant close to their hotel.

How Do I Choose The Perfect Chicago Restaurant For My Event
With so much choice, it can be difficult to make a decision. To help you with the task, weve prepared a short checklist of things to consider when booking the ideal restaurant for your event.
- Set your budget. Figure out how much money youre ready to spend to secure the event space and pay for the catering. Once you have the numbers, use Tagvenue to filter Chicago restaurants by price and easily find places that match your budget.
- Pick the date and time. Will your event take place on the weekend or during the week? In the evening or during the day? If you can, try to be flexible this will give you an advantage over other people who are also trying to book a space for their event.
- Estimate the number of guests. Make a list of everyone you want to invite and, ideally, ask them to RSVP. Knowing how many guests to expect is the key to booking the perfect-sized space. Theres no point in renting a room with more capacity than you actually need.
- Figure out the seating layout. Once you know how many people are coming, its also worth spending some time to figure out the seating arrangements. For example, do you prefer multiple round tables, one long table or a U-shaped layout?
- Agree on a convenient location. While picking a specific Chicago area, consider things such as the neighborhoods vibe, access via public transport, parking spaces, etc.

Guide To Renting A Small Private Room
- Set your budget. We cant emphasize enough how important and helpful having a budget is! Once you have an established budget and know exactly how much you can spend on each part of the event, youll be able to narrow down your search very quickly. We suggest you take everything into consideration, from the rental costs to all of the additional spending, such as food, drinks, decorations, entertainment, etc. Some restaurants offer special packages and deals, so before booking your favorite spot, talk to the venue manager and find out your options.
- Invite your crowd. We assume your guest list will depend on the type of event youre planning to host. But one thing is certain: focus on inviting those who are close to your heart and with whom you wish to celebrate every special moment in your life. Just remember that small private dining rooms can usually accommodate about twenty people, so dont invite the whole circus, as too many people simply wont fit. Its important to find a space able to seat everyone comfortably, which is why we recommend using our smart search filters. They will make sure that you are presented with a curated list of small private dining rooms that are perfect for your occasion and the number of guests.

Boasting everything from breakfast to evening cocktail hours, Nico Osteria takes private dining to a new level.
Your private party will enjoy their fare overlooking the Gold Coast neighborhood, one of the most magnificent views Chicago has to offer. Nico is slightly below the point where North Rush Street and North State Street merge.
Nico has some of the best Italian cuisines in the city, including their private dining menus. I have had many dinner receptions here and can vouch for their braised beef short rib and pasta dishes.
Nico also has an extensive breakfast list, ranging from granola and fruit to chef-selected choices like prosciutto and avocado toast.
