- Not worth a trip just to come out here to crate and barrel outlet or CB2… furniture, tables and any big ticket items are dented, scratched or cracked. The discount is small. They do have small kitchen and decoration items brand new but again discount is a few bucks.
- Don’t waste your time coming here, I drove from city took me over an hour and what a disappointment of inventories. Either the furniture are scuffed or drawers not close able, and only a handful of items. I ended buying some bowls so that I am not empty handed coming backs. I would never return to this outlet again.
- May 2021 Awful customer service with disorganized pickup. Wish I could give zero stars. Also, merchandise appears damaged and they’re still overcharging for most of it.

What are people saying about rugs in Chicago, IL?
This is a review for rugs in Chicago, IL:
“I am very impressed with this store. Their inventory isn’t as big but you’ll find lots of treat deals. I’d say half the things are not in excellent condition. We got 3 counter stools which was amazing, you usually can’t find matching sets in outlets. They had minor scratches and rips which I was ok with. They were 60% off retail price. They are still in the regular store and I’ve been eyeing them for a month. Their hours have changed due to covid which we didn’t know. At 5.10 pm we got yelled at by the staff to leave. It was rude and uncalled for. We didn’t know and they easily could have told us at 4.45 that they’re gonna close.”

Gordon and Carole Browe Segal established the celebrated housewares and furniture retailer Crate & Barrel with the goal of offering strikingly designed, well-made products at reasonable prices. The Segals established Crate & Barrel in 1962 as a modestly financed, single outlet in Chicagos Old Town neighborhood. The company has brought distinguished design to the consumer market ever since. The extensive archival record of Crate & Barrels development now finds its home in a metropolitan Chicago repository: Northwestern Universitys McCormick Library of Special Collections and University Archives.
In this program presented by Chicago Collections Consortium, Gordon Segal talks with Kevin Leonard, Northwestern University Archivist along with Jeanne Long, Chicago Collections Consortium Executive Director and Brandon Radonski, who recently received his Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing and Design Engineering, a program based in Northwesterns Segal Design Center. Join them to discover the inside story behind the rise of this Chicago-born, internationally prominent retailer and the unique resources of the Crate and Barrel archives.
