DHS Rolling Meadows location: horrible service. My father requested phone appt on his application due to disability. He got an office appt. Tried to call and reschedule- no such luck. Even called governor’s office – no such luck. As of this moment have been waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes pass the appointed time. There is no queu, no lists, no order – I asked at the front desk. Will There Be Enough Help Available

Grace Hou, Secretary, Illinois Department of Human Services

Reaffirming Governor Pritzkerâs commitment to housing stability and eviction prevention during the pandemic, the Illinois Rental Payment Program will deploy multiple rounds of funding totaling $1.5 billion dollars to fund two statewide rental assistance programsânearly 4 times the amount available to our state last year. We expect there will be enough funding to help our most vulnerable residents.Federally and state-funded programs also provide a combination of emergency financial assistance, case management, and community outreach to address housing challenges Illinois renters may be facing.

To combat lead poisoning through the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Healthy Homes Program, the Chicago Department of Public Health works to enforce city and state laws regarding lead paint by dispatching building inspectors to identify lead hazards in homes and apartments and hold property owners accountable for making repairs required by law. This metric tracks the total number of initial lead inspections CDPH performs per month. The performance goal is 100 inspections per month.
