Know Your Rights While Voting In Illinois
- You need not present a photo ID to vote in Illinois. A poll worker should not ask you for ID except in a narrow range of circumstances. You may need an ID if:
- An Election Judge challenges your right to vote
- You registered to vote by mail and did not provide ID
- If you are also registering to vote or changing your registration address on the day that you vote

When Do Polls Open
On Tuesday, November 2nd, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If youre in line to vote when the polls close at 8 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote.
If you plan to vote early, the early voting period ranges from Saturday October 23 to Friday, October 29. You can find your early voting location here, but City Hall is the main location for early voting.

Question: I sent in my mail-in ballot, but Im worried it wasnt received. What can I do?Answer: First, call your local election authority to ask if it was received. If not, you may still go to vote in person. They will give you a provisional ballot. If your mail-in ballot is eventually received, then the provisional ballot will be thrown out.

To register at your poling place on Election Day , you need to bring one of the following for proof of residence:

A registered voter from your precinct can go with you to the polling place to sign an oath confirming your address. This is known as ‘vouching.’ A registered voter can vouch for up to eight voters. You cannot vouch for others if someone vouched for you.

Even if you think you know where to go based on where you voted in the last election, consider checking insome former precinct polling places are no longer participating due to COVID-19 concerns this year and have had to be replaced, according to the Chicago Tribune.
To search for your polling place, head to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners website, where you can input your last name and address to look up your voter information, which includes your precinct and assigned polling place. Pro tip: You can also use this site to generate a sample ballot and check your voter registration.
If you can’t make it to your designated polling site, head to the city’s Super Sites located in the Loop or the United Center , where any Chicago resident can cast a vote or present ID for same-day voter registration from 6am7pm. And don’t forget to wear a mask!

Transportation To The Polls For People With Disabilities
Paces fixed route bus and van fleets are all accessible to people with disabilities or health conditions, and the ADA Paratransit system and various local Dial-a-Ride programs offer service that is exclusively dedicated to the five county community which includes the Chicago metropolitan area.
In addition, all fixed route buses are accessible and route information is available the Pace website: www.Pacebus.com.

Minnesotas traditional absentee ballot requirements are back in place in 2021 after a year of relaxed rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, absentee voters must have a witness sign their ballot envelope and ballots must be received by Election Day to count.

CHICAGO On November 3, 2020, the Chicago Board of Elections will utilize the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks, as an Election Day Voting Super Site for the first time in the arenas history. In partnership with the United Center, the Chicago Board of Elections is expanding safe and accessible voting options and designating the United Center as an additional option for Chicago voters.
