Honey Butter Fried Chicken was opened in September of 2013 by Chicago Chefs Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp to much excitement. On opening night Christine found herself standing at the pick-up counter surrounded by a sea of order tickets, with a line of 50 people extended out the door. Since then, theyve been featured everywhere from the Chicago Tribune Dining Awards to ABCs The Chew. When asked about the point at which they first started to feel like successful chef/owners, they credited their team:
Recently, we had a couple of business trips and needed to pull away from the restaurant. We realized we werent stressed or worried about what was going on at HBFC since we trusted our staff to run the restaurant. That was a huge relief and was inspiring for us too. We know we cant run this business alone, and it made us proud that we had gotten to a level where our staff was well trained and well taken care of, so they could take care of the business without us being there all the time.

Honey Butter Fried Chicken
As the name suggests, fried chicken is the real thrill and most important part of Honey Butter Fried Chicken. And what makes this place unique is that its a deboned poultry party. And the boneless thighs and breasts allow the chicken to remain moist and flavorful while maintaining the crunch of their double batter crust. Its a juicy and satisfying piece of fried meat with a distinctly seasoned fried crust.
And the actual honey butter is where its at. If you like honey on your fried chicken, which we certainly do, you will absolutely love smearing this sweet buttery goodness all over your bird. As an added bonus, sweet corn-muffins accompany any order of fried chicken and they are pretty baller too. Add a dollop of honey butter to the corn muffins for similar flavor escalation.
When it comes to the sides, feel free to try one or two but know they arent nearly as important. A side of mac & cheese is always a good idea, but the main attraction here is a plate of chicken and corn muffins for less than $15. Putting literal honey butter on fried chicken may sound like overkill, but try it once and youll be hooked.

Do I Have To Enter And Exit At Exactly The Time Listed On My Reservation
