BIG money and Fantastic shopping. I personally love the Na Hoku Hawaiian Jewelry store. I bought a black pearl and platinum earring and necklace set for my wife, and pearl earrings for my mother. The sales staff were exceedingly patient with me-I was riding a large and unwieldy mobility scooter in their compact store, and I had to look at every single thing they had. At least once. Sometimes two or three times. Accessibility is an issue at many storefronts. The streets, sidewalks and corner cuts themselves are often quite steep, sharp and in very poor repair- with holes or ruts easy enough to step over but difficult if not potentially disasterous for those of us in wheelchairs or scooters.

the location of the hotel is good. its walking distance to miracle mile/michigan avenue, theatre district, millenium park, and the riverwalk while being far enough away that you’re not battling crowds to get into the hotel. I asked for a room with a view and they delivered. the wifi worked well enough once we figured it out and it was nice that we could “simulcast” netflix or amazon prime from our phones to the tv. staff replaced the broken coffee machine when we told them about it. room had a fridge, no microwave.

Could not recommend The Gwen enough for any type of event. Its a chic, luxurious, and dazzling space. We hosted a graduation party in one of the balcony suites in May 2018 and enjoyed it so much weve booked the presidential suite and grand ballroom for our wedding next year. Love the space, love the staff! The GM and Event Director have been incredible with adjustments due to COVID and are invested in making sure our day is exactly how we want it. The food is great and the outdoor terraces give a great city experience. 5 stars.
