In Custody After Oak Brook Hyatt House Hotel Housekeeper Sexually Assaulted
A man is in custody after a police said a housekeeper was sexually assaulted inside a room at an Oak Brook hotel Monday.
OAK BROOK, Ill. — A man is in custody after a police said a housekeeper was sexually assaulted inside a room at an Oak Brook hotel Monday.
Oak Brook police said they are still interviewing people connected to the case at the Hyatt House at 210 W. 22nd St.
Seven different police agencies were involved in the apprehension of the suspect after police received a report of a sexual assault at the hotel shortly before noon.
Officers were told that the suspect may still be armed and in the area. They then went room-by-room searching for the suspect, a 38-year-old man believed to be a relative of a hotel guest, but no one was found.
Guests at the Hyatt House hotel woke up to a commotion in the hallway and outside.
“When he walked out of our room there were officers in the hallway,” said Janna Morgan, guest. “They told him to go back in the room.”
“I went to the door and I was hearing them go room to room,” said Hamza Muhammad, guest.
Police were searching for the suspected sexual assailant, but guests said they didn’t know that.
“As soon as I cracked open the door they were like, ‘OK sir, you need to move out the way. We need to come into the room,'” Muhammad said.
“They had, like, big rifles and pistols, like, drawn and people know when the guns are drawn they want to use them, so just makes you uncomfortable,” said Morgan.

Amazing Stay And Service
We stayed here during our 13-year old’s water polo tournament in Westmont. The staff were amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating! The hot breakfast every morning was great, and the hotel room exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again!

Traveled to this hotel for business. Nice stay at clean hotel that was kept well and updated. Staff are all welcoming and helpful. They took care if necessities I didnt have quickly. Enjoyed the stay here.

Convenient access to highways and Oak Brook means everything you could need is close by. And the staff are wonderful – Jaliyah and Niya go the extra mile to help a hotel feel like a home!

We stopped in for a weekend. We enjoy the Hyatt brand. The accommodations were good for us. The breakfast was delicious We had a problem however with a strong odor of mold in the bathroom. We have reported this to management. Hopefully this is addressed.
Our room was very comfortable, had all the supplies we needed, and staff was very friendly.I would recommend the hotel. I have stayed at other Hyatts and have never been disappointed.They are consistently excellent.

Wow what a amazing experience our water polo team has staying at Hyatt House! The staff was so friendly and helpful and went way above and beyond our expectations! Ashunti knew we had an early start before the breakfast would be opened and had cereal and fruit set up for the boys! More

Hyatt House and Hyatt Places are in my experience some of the best concept properties out there and definitely the best value out there. Oak Brook Hyatt House is a fantastic value and the staff were great.
