Arlington Heights Trustees Approve Pre
Two significant factors came out of Mondays meeting: the team acknowledged it will be asking for a public-private partnership to make the move happen, and the village clarified that it will not allow anything to happen without proof that it will recoup those costs and then some.
The village board is expected to vote on a pre-development framework, which lays out how the two sides will move forward.
The Bears passed the halfway point with reason to feel theres hope, with Fields progressing and the offense starting to put up points at a rate that hasnt been seen in Chicago in a long time.
Showing off his dynamic athleticism and improved passing, Justin Fields went toe-to-toe with Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday and nearly led the Chicago Bears to a comeback win.
Fields ran for 178 yards, the most by an NFL quarterback in a regular-season game.
Its game day today! Fans are already tailgating in preparation for the Chicago Bears to take on the Miami Dolphins at Soldier Field. The Bears Mobile Five, tailgating hall-of-famers going on 39 years, are grilling up and smoking tasty treats.
The Chicago Bears activated left guard Cody Whitehair on Friday.
Chicago could be in for some rough Sundays, particularly on defense after two big trades in the past two weeks. But the offense is at least showing progress.
Ryan Poles thought he inherited a potential cornerstone player for the defense in linebacker Roquan Smith when the Chicago Bears hired him as their general manager in January.
The Chicago Bears Have Some Solid Options In Free Agency And The 2023 Draft
Poles knew that Quinn and Smith were not going to work out long-term. One was an aging veteran who was going to become a salary cap casualty. The other is a rising star who plays a devalued position and was becoming an off-the-field distraction as he demanded more money than his position deserves. The player he traded for can help Justin Fields develop, but would easily be a top free agent acquisition in 2023 if his contract expired at the end of the season.
The big reason here for the Bears issues is that the defense has really struggled. The team has struggled to stop the run specifically, but they also allowed Tua Tagovailoa to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. It should be noted that many teams struggle to stop the tandem of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, however, what the Hell happened vs the Lions?
Chicago Is On A Seven
Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin
The Bears have lost seven in a row to the Packers, and the games havent been close. During the losing streak, Chicago loses by an average of two scores per game, with Green Bay scoring 29 points per game compared to the Bears 16 points.
Honestly, the Bears havent won much against the Packers. Before falling into the current seven-game losing streak, Chicago was on a five-game losing streak from 2016-18. So its been tough sledding against Green Bay, and the Bears havent won consecutive games in the series since Brian Griese and Kyle Orton were the quarterbacks.

Brandon Carwile : Packers 31 Bears 17
The Packers may be having a down year, but they arent bad enough to lose to a 3-9 Bears team. Aaron Rodgers announced his ownership of Chicagos franchise during his visit to Soldier Field last year, but a broken thumb and banged-up ribs should make Aaron Jones the focal point offensively. Jones was stellar against the Bears in Week 2 and could eclipse 150 total yards to along with a couple of touchdowns in a repeat performance. Defensively, I know everyone is worried about Justin Fields running ability after Jalen Hurts, but Chicago cant throw the ball like the Philadelphia Eagles. Spy Fields for most of the game and I dont think the Bears offense will score enough to keep up.
Latest Draft Projections Have Chicago Bears Picking Much Higher
Everybody is ecstatic the Chicago Bears may finally have a quarterback. Justin Fields has done tremendous work over the past six weeks. His passer rating jumped from 58 to 99. Hes only thrown three interceptions compared to 10 touchdowns and has run for almost 600 yards. Defenses have no answers for him. Unfortunately, these borderline-Superman efforts havent been enough to cover up how bad the rest of the roster is. The Bears were the first team to score at least 29 points in three straight games and lose all three in NFL history.
That should help explain how depleted this roster is. The defense cant stop anybody. Worse still, the Bears just lost top running back Khalil Herbert to a hip injury. So now the bread and butter of their offense is weakened. To top it off, their schedule starts to get worse after Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. They have the Jets and Packers before the bye week, then Philadelphia, Buffalo, Detroit, and Minnesota to finish things up. Its little wonder new draft projections from The Athletic have the Bears picking higher than their current 6th overall spot.

Bears Nkeal Harry: Dealing With Illness
Harry was listed as a DNP on the Bears injury report Thursday.
Harry was ruled a healthy scratch ahead of Chicagos Week 10 loss to the Lions and did not carry any injury designation on the teams injury report Wednesday. While the nature and severity of this ailment are still unknown, the 24-year-old will have two full days to get healthy before Sundays game against the Falcons. Harry has caught four of five targets for 44 yards and touchdown over three games this season, and hell likely play a deep-reserve role when available moving forward.
Bears’ Trevor Siemian: Heads To Ir
Siemian was placed on the Bears’ injured reserve Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Siemian is set to undergo season-ending surgery for an oblique injury sustained in pregame warmups ahead of Chicago’s Week 12 loss to the Jets. The 30-year-old quarterback was then ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Packers, and he’ll now turn his focus toward recovering ahead of the 2023 season. With Siemian done for the year, the Bears have signed Nathan Peterman from the practice squad to serve as the backup quarterback behind Justin Fields on Sunday.

Bears Cole Kmet: Returns As Limited Participant
Kmet was a limited practice participant Thursday.
One day removed from being held out Wednesday due to a thigh injury, Kmet returned to the field and managed to log some reps. Ultimately, Fridays practice report will reveal if hell carry a designation into the weekend ahead of Sundays contest in Atlanta. If hes able to suit up, Kmet will be looking to keep up his hot streak, which has amounted to an 11-126-5 line on 15 targets over the last three games.

Bears’ Kindle Vildor: Questionable Sunday
Vildor is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Packers.
Vildor practiced fully Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday, but he’ll still carry a questionable tag ahead of Week 13. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him suit up since he seems to be trending in the right direction.
Bears Sign De Taco Charlton Cut Lb Aj Klein
The Bears acquired some depth on the defensive line today, signing former first-round pick Taco Charlton from the Saints practice squad, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Additionally, the Bears activated linebacker Matthew Adams from injured reserve.
Charlton has had a rollercoaster of a career through six seasons. Hes coming off of a down season in Pittsburgh where the Steelers barely used him. As a rotational pass rusher, Charlton only played more than half of the teams defensive snaps twice in the season. In his lone start, he earned his only half-sack and a quarterback hit. In the only other game that saw him play more than half the Steelers snaps, he recorded his only other quarterback hit of the season.
Charlton hasnt played a full season since his rookie year for the Cowboys in 2017. Since then, injuries and inactive periods for other non-disclosed reasons have kept him off the field for weeks at a time. He signed with the Saints early in the offseason but was cut and signed to the practice squad at the roster cut deadline.
Adams is a reserve linebacker and core special teamer for the Bears. He was placed on IR after suffering a calf injury in the teams Week 5 loss to the Vikings. His return adds some depth to the linebacking position behind starters Jack Sanborn, Joe Thomas, and Nicholas Morrow.

Bears’ Sterling Weatherford: Ready To Return
Weatherford does not have an injury designation for Sunday’s game against the Packers.
Weatherford was forced to miss the Bears’ Week 12 loss due to a concussion. However, he practiced in full throughout the week and will return after a one-game absence. In 11 games this season, Weatherford has played 175 of his 177 snaps on special teams while recording four total tackles.
Bears Matt Adams: Activated From Ir
The Bears activated Adams from injured reserve Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Adams resumed practicing last week, and Chicago has seen enough to now bring him back to the active roster. That puts the 26-year-old on track to resume handling a depth role on defense beginning with Sundays matchup against the Falcons.

Bears Taco Charlton: Poached By Bears
Chicago signed Charlton off the Saints practice squad Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Charlton hasnt yet made his 2022 season debut, but he could get a chance to contribute for the Bears as early as Sundays contest against the Falcons. The 2017 first-round pick logged 11 appearances with the Steelers last year.

Bears’ Larry Borom: Won’t Face Packers
Borom has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Packers.
Borom suffered the injury during the Bears’ Week 12 loss to the Jets. He was unable to practice in any capacity throughout the week, so it’s no surprise that he has been ruled out. Borom’s absence will cut into some of Chicago’s depth at tackle.

Neither defense is playing well, and both quarterbacks for different reasons should be aptly motivated to create a strong performance, even if Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields arent feeling 100 percent. I think that adds up to fireworks on Sunday at Soldier Field. The Packers go into the bye week with an entertaining win over a rival.
Aaron Rodgers Owns The Bears
Mike De Sisti / Milwaukee Journal Sentinel via USA TODAY NETWORK
Although hes injured and having one of the worst years of his career, Rodgers is 23-5 all-time against Chicago. During his time as the quarterback in Green Bay, hes never lost two games in a row to the Bears.
In his last five starts against Chicago, hes completing 76% of his passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns per game. But, after watching Mike White turn in an all-star performance against a bad, injury-riddled Bears defense, Rodgers will likely turn back into the version of himself fans know and hate.

Bears’ Justin Fields: Will Return Sunday
Fields practiced fully Friday and doesn’t have a designation for Sunday’s contest against the Packers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
With back-to-back uncapped practices under his belt to cap Week 13 prep, Fields is healthy enough to play through the separated shoulder with partially torn ligaments in his left, non-throwing shoulder. He’ll thus miss just one game as a result, and his upcoming foe is a familiar one in an NFC North rival. Green Bay’s defense allowed Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to run rampant for 157 yards on 17 carries this past Sunday, so Fields has an appealing matchup with which to continue his run of success prior to sitting out Week 12.
Fields Takes Big Step Toward Return When Bears Host Packers
LAKE FOREST, Ill. Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields appears poised to return against the Green Bay Packers after missing a game because of an injury to his nonthrowing shoulder.
Fields took a big step toward playing by practicing Thursday without limitations after missing last weeks loss at the New York Jets.
The Bears will try to stop a five-game losing streak and get a rare win over their rivals when they host the Packers on Sunday. Green Bay has won seven in a row against Chicago.
Fields, whos been turning heads in his second season, separated his left shoulder and suffered some ligament damage in the AC joint when he was tackled on a designed run late in Chicagos loss at Atlanta two weeks ago. He participated in practice on a limited basis leading up to the game at New York and was limited again on Wednesday.
Hes kind of in the same boat as last week day to day, offensive coordinator Luke Getsy said prior to Thursdays practice.
Getting better. Taking some reps like he did last week. Well kind of play that thing out as the week goes just like we did last week.
The Bears have a bye next week that could give Fields extra time to recuperate.
But theyre also running out of opportunities for their quarterback and offense to make improvements that could carry over to next year.

Bills Claim Lb Aj Klein
The Bills added a familiar face off waivers today. The team announced that theyve claimed linebacker A.J. Klein off waivers from the Bears. The veteran was waived by Chicago yesterday. To make room on the roster, Buffalo placed wideout Jake Kumerow on injured reserve.
Klein spent two seasons with the Bills between 2020 and 2021. He had a career year during his first season in Buffalo, finishing with a career-high 75 tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles in 16 games . He saw a reduced role in 2021, starting only four of his 15 appearances, but he still finished with 35 tackles. Klein also got into five playoff games during his first stint with the organization, collecting another seven tackles.
The 31-year-old has bounced around a bit since getting released by the Bills back in March. He joined the Giants practice squad in October before getting signed to Baltimores active roster. He was later sent to Chicago in the Roquan Smith trade before getting waived a few weeks later. Hes totaled five tackles in four games this year.
Kumerow has seen time in six games for the Bills this season, hauling in four catches for 64 yards while also playing a role on special teams. The veteran suffered an ankle injury during Buffalos Week 10 loss to the Vikings, and now hell be sidelined for at least the next four games.

Ranking The Chicago Bears 2023 Offseason Needs And Where To Fill Them
The Chicago Bears have really started to turn a corner when it comes to the offense. This team is finding new ways to use Justin Fields despite a lack of superior talent around him at key positions. Id argue that he has a solid wide receiver in Darnell Mooney and the running backs are toward the top of the league as well. The offensive line is lacking in certain spots though and we will have to see what Chase Claypool brings to the table. The point is, he needs a few more key teammates.
Its just past the middle of the 2022 NFL season, but it is never too late to be looking into the future. The Chicago Bears are 3-7 on the year, and despite these moral victories, they dont look to be a playoff team. As a general manager, Ryan Poles always needs to be thinking big picture. He cannot get caught up in only focusing on the team now. We saw just how good he is at this when he traded away Robert Quinn and Roquan Smith while also trading for Chase Claypool.
