they have resturants from coast to coast. Actually in Las Vegas Eiffel Tower and Mon Ami Gabi are considered 2 of the finest restaurants.

But chicago is where it started. They have upscale restaurants and lower end restaurants.

Lettuce Entertain You Bringing Big Bowl To Glen

A new Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Big Bowl, is expected to open next year in Glenview.

The new restaurant is expected to open near Wildfire and Jewel-Osco in The Glen in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The restaurant would stand on what is now a vacant lot at 1320 Patriot Blvd. near the grocery store and Wildfire, another Lettuce Entertain You establishment.

Village trustees gave developers the green light to move forward with construction of the restaurant building last month.

Lettuce Entertain You operates six Big Bowl restaurants, serving Chinese and Thai cuisine, in Chicagos River North, Schaumburg and Lincolnshire, along with three in Minnesota.

The new restaurant building would have a floor area of 6,775 sq. ft. including 209 indoor and outdoor seats, on a nearly 49,000 sq. ft. lot, a village report says.

Plans show a one-story restaurant with a brick exterior facade, high ceilings, bay windows, skylights and a screened-in porch.

The parking lot is adequate to handle the increased lunch and dinner traffic. During a recent village board meeting, project managers said, as Big Bowl and Wildfire have the same ownership, any parking or other issues would be better coordinated.

Village trustees and reports also discuss landscaping, stormwater issues, signage and building features.

Despite the cacophony of conversation, songs from the 50s and 60s could be heard in the background. Many partygoers were lip-syncing the familiar tunes while savoring hamburgers, cheese fries, chili, onion rings and tuna salad sandwiches. Fountain drinks such as green rivers, cherry Cokes, cream sodas and black cows were just as popular as Eds beer, aged in its bottle, and wine. It was a toss-up as to whether there were more patrons bellying up to the bar or to the bowling machine.

Tao Lettuce Entertain You Partner For Planned Chicago Private Club

Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and Tao Group Hospitality have announced plans for a first-time collaboration on a private members-only club in Chicago, the companies announced Friday.

Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You restaurants and New York-based Tao Group Hospitality said the new venue will be in Chicagos River North neighborhood with a scheduled opening in late 2023.

This members club will have more of a culinary focus, a LEYE spokesperson said, adding that few other details were available.

The as-yet-unnamed venues interior will be designed by Joyce Wang of Joyce Wang Studio, which has offices in Hong Kong and London and specializes in luxury hospitality.

I have admired Lettuce and have been friends with the Melmans for almost 20 years, said Noah Tepperberg, co-CEO of Tao Group, in a statement. We are thrilled to be working together and think this will be one of the country’s most exciting membership clubs.

R.J. Melman, president of Lettuce Entertain You, said: We are excited to collaborate with the Tao Group to open this private club in downtown Chicago. We believe this project will bring a new, curated social and dining experience to our community.

LEYE, founded in 1971 with the R.J. Grunts concept, owns, manages and licenses more than 110 establishments in California, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Halsted Street Becomes Lettuce Entertain You’s Very Own Magnificent Mile

A few years ago, Halsted Street in Lincoln Park was but a shell of the burgeoning dining and drinking Mecca it is today. In fact, the neighborhood at large was maligned as a bit of a restaurant wasteland, at least in comparison to other hot spots like the West Loop, Logan Square, and River North. Save for a few staples, the neighborhood had a ways to go to prove its validity. And thanks in large part to Lettuce Entertain You, Lincoln Park has done just that. Specifically, the restaurant group has practically transformed and elevated Halsted Street into its very own Magnificent Mile, adding to its established and esteemed Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! with new destinations like Summer House Santa Monica and Stella Barra. Now comes news of the next venture, a seafood restaurant called Oyster on Halsted.

Lettuce Entertain You Revives Long

Lots of restaurants are creating new, virtual concepts out of their kitchens during the pandemic.

But multi-concept operator Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises , which has been in business for 50 years, is spinning new, virtual concepts out of old ones.

In recent months, the Chicago-based restaurant group has launched several virtual brands out of existing kitchens, reviving old concepts that closed years ago.

During the last year, all ideas were on the table, said Bill Nevruz, a LEYE partner and divisional president. We explored a lot of ideas to keep the business going and keep sales going and keep as many people as we could employed.

One of those resurrected restaurants is Vongs Thai Kitchen, a concept created in partnership with Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten that operated in Chicago in the early 2000s.

The executive chef of that restaurant is now the head chef at LEYEs Shaws Crab House and, coincidentally, Nevruzs wife was the general manager at Vongs for many years.

I knew I had someone who absolutely could do that food better than anyone, Nevruz said. He learned that cuisine from Jean-Georges.

Since June, LEYE has offered a limited menu of Vongs Thai Kitchen dishes out of its Shaws kitchen. The menu was optimized to not put a huge strain on Shaws operations, he said, while also taking advantage of Shaws extensive seafood inventory.

In re-imaging Vongs, Nevruz was nervous he might steal business from Shaws.

These restaurants will sit within the St. Regis Hotel, an upcoming luxury hotel occupying 11 lower floors of the Lake Shore East tower, expected to open in Spring2023. Although the names of these restaurants have not been revealed, MagellanDevelopment Group is partnering with Lettuce Entertain You to bring these restaurants to life next year, according to Crains Chicago Business. The first restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, will open when St. Regis does, while the other restaurant, a Tuscan steakhouse, will follow later next year.

Lettuce Entertain You has proved itself this year as one of the hottest hospitality groups in Chicagoland, announcing a west-coast style eatery in West Loop and a members-only club in River North. Other restaurants in this groups portfolio include Wildfire, Beatrix, Aba, Big Bowl, RPM Steak, and many more. The to-be-named Japanese restaurant will sit on the 11th floor with chef Hisanobu Osaka running the kitchen. On the second floor, the Tuscan steakhouse will be a collaboration with Los Angeles chef Evan Funke, who operates Mother Wolf in Los Angeles.
