What Is Chicago Pd Season 10’s Story
Chicago P.D. Season 9 ended with the culmination of a multi-episode storyline involving the sometimes controversial Hank Voight and his confidential informant Anna Avalos . In Season 9, Episode 22, “You and Me,” the Intelligence Unit finally confronted their ongoing nemesis Javier Escano. However, it came at the cost of Anna’s life as one member of Intelligence was forced to shoot her. Season 10 will have to address the fallout from that case, given Voight’s closeness to Anna.
It will also have to deal with some significant changes in the Intelligence Unit, as the One Chicago drama is featuring a major cast shakeup during the season . That will undoubtedly be something that plays out over multiple episodes as the writers plan out an exit storyline and the remaining characters deal with the loss of another team member. Well, we should go ahead and make it clear that there is some great news currently to share: Production is starting this week for all of these shows! This means that were going to be getting some more great news on all of them, and we cant wait until there is more to dive into when it comes to episode teases and a whole lot more.

Intelligence Sets Up A Sting
Halstead confronted Torres and asked him if he was the leak, but Torres appeared very offended and denied any wrongdoing.
Voight then let Halstead know that they needed to use Torres as an undercover and asked him what his take was on Torres. Halstead was still unsure but decided to give Torres a shot.
When they went to the meet, it turned out that Torres knew the man who was selling the guns, leading to some complications in the bust. The suspect grabbed a gun and started shooting at Halstead and Upton as they came to provide backup. While they were pinned down, Torres took down the suspect and saved the day.
Halstead and Torres had a long chat a bit later where he revealed a lot about his past, including the fact that the person he had put in a wheelchair was his abusive stepfather. Torres proved very trustworthy within the episode and worked well with the team, suggesting we could see him again later.

Chicago Pd Season 9 Episode 18 Review: New Guard
Can we keep Torres permanently?
They delivered one of the strongest case and character studies with Chicago PD Season 9 Episode 18. While it centered around Halstead, it was mysterious recruit Torres whose layers we unpeeled throughout the hour.
And by the end, it left you wishing he’d become a more permanent fixture on the unit.
We’ve missed some elements of the series in recent years. Many fans harp on the loss of patrol and how that has impacted the series. And there’s no doubt that it has, especially when it sidelined Trudy more.
But it’s that fresh face quality of those who are still green to everything and finding their footing and their identity in the field of policing that lacks, too.
Over time, we’ve lost many characters, some of whom never got their replacement. And while there’s nothing wrong with the unit as it is, we’re long overdue for some fresh blood to add new elements and vibes to the show and the unit.
And that’s probably why Torres stood out instantly, despite his tacit, stoic exterior and the mysterious nature behind if he was a friendly or something else entirely. He’s a genuinely refreshing character and exactly what this series needs.
It was so good to see Benjamin Levy Aguilar onscreen again. He was fantastic in the short-lived Filthy Rich, and he was even more so during this installment. He and Soffer had great chemistry and killed it.
The action was on point, too. The scenes in the bodega were intense, and the hour wasn’t lacking in shootouts.

According to the folks over at Deadline.com , this season 10 renewal actually came in very early. NBC actually greenlit season 10 way back in February 2020 as part of a 3-year, renewal deal. They did that along with the other Chicago shows: Chicago Med and Chicago Fire. So, I think its quite clear that NBC loves this franchise, and we cant blame them. It performs very well for them.
Chicago PD season 9 averaged 5.829 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.72 ratings score. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Wednesday night, May 18, 2022, drew in 5.470 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.65 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 6.538 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 16 with 5.332 million LIVE viewers.

Chicago Fire Season 10, Chicago Med Season 7 and Chicago PD Season 9 have now all aired their winter finales, meaning the NBC shows are on hiatus for the next few weeks.
