NORC at the University of Chicago is one of the largest independent social research organizations in the United States. Established in 1941 as the National Opinion Research Center, its corporate headquarters is located in downtown Chicago, with offices in several other locations throughout the United States. Organized as an independent corporation, more than half its board comes from faculty and administration of the University of Chicago. It also jointly staffs some university academic research centers.

Very easy and a little redundant. Two rounds of 4 interviewers each with various repeating questions and typical “tell me about yourself and your experience”. Some were senior and others peer, it seemed to be gauging fit more than anything else.

The usual customer service questions followed by training and passing exam. Questions varied and typing test wasnt required. The exam was also pretty easy. Needed an eighty percent to pass.

Submitted application via website, easy and straightforward. Contacted by recruiter and passed initial phone screen.Then Zoom interview day with 4-5 one-on-one conversations with NORC staff at different levels. Discussed prior experience, no real “skill-testing” type of inquiries.Final interview with with a VP-type role. Connected well and responded positively to our conversation.But few days later, recruiter notified me that there’s no offer. When asked for feedback from individual interviewers and the recruiter… Every single one of them ghosted me.
