Filling The Void And Growing The Community
With the retirement of the indispensable and incomparable CPSObsessed blog that helped Chicago families for almost a decade, a sudden panic seized Chicago parents on where they would turn to soothe their obsession of tracking scores, tiers and offers for CPS admissions or learn about changing application processes or hear about new or up and coming schools, etc. While CPSObsessed was the place to visit for all things CPS, many parents were also weighing private school options or wondering about special need supports and a myriad of other school related topics.
Out of this gaping void came the genesis for ChicagoSchoolOptions. This new website aims to be a crowdsourced destination for the next crop of anxious Chicago parents looking for answers. It will only be as useful as those who contribute to the site make it, so please feel free to and post to the School Forum or if you would like to help improve the site, be an editor or contributor or have any advice on increasing the user-friendliness. Currently it is maintained by someone with more passion for the topics than technical savvy about the platform.
We welcome your help to make ChicagoSchoolOptions the go-to site for sharing Chicago area school knowledge. From preschool to high school, public and private, general, gifted and special ed, this site is meant to help fellow parents gain a better understanding of all their school related questions. if you have anything to share and help us grow our community!
Rochelle Zell Jewish High School

Rochelle Zell Jewish High School is a great example of how the school has emerged as one of the top 10 private high schools in Chicago. Just 16 years ago, the school was started with just 24 students and eventually, the school rose to fame through its top-rated alumni.
The school focuses on giving a blend of traditional as well as the modern approach towards learning the nuances of students curriculum. If you want your kid to be aware of the traditional Jewish scriptures, I would highly recommend this top-rated high school.

Black Student Reflects On Confronting Racism At Top Chicago Private School: Keep The Same Energy
But Randy chose the Latin School of Chicago, an independent school on the Gold Coast serving predominantly white and affluent students. Latin tendered him a four-year scholarship worth more than $120,000 in tuition. His parents preferred Latin, and his sister, a 2014 Latin grad, praised its academic rigor.
She warned her brother, too: She told me I would have some of the worst experiences Ive ever had in my life there, Randy said. I didnt believe her. I thought that maybe she just had a bad experience, that I would be different.
Investigations that expose, influence and inform. Emailed directly to you.
But Randy saw for himself in the summer of 2017, five days into the school year. Randy said he was sitting on a school bus headed to a freshman orientation retreat when a white boy suddenly sat next to him and joked that he didnt have a father.
And in the fall, a few months after a deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, Randy was sitting at a lunch table in Latins cafeteria when several white boys began joking that they were planning to attend a KKK rally.
I kind of just took it because I felt like if I showed that they were affecting me they would just keep doing it, he said. But it got worse, to the point where people, white people, were just saying the N-word around me as if I wasnt there.

St Ignatius College Prep
If you are looking for a school where your kid will have a fantastic campus life in a diversified environment, I would highly recommend St. Ignatius College Prep school where its primary focus is to make students get ready to get into their dream universities.
The school is filled with around 24 AP courses with STEM classes which include top-rated subjects like robotics and programming. It is a great school, but the only con is that the school has major criticism for creating a stressful atmosphere with no consideration of students mental health.
