A popular River North restaurant has announced plans to close after 12 years in business.
CHICAGO A popular River North restaurant has announced plans to close after 12 years in business.
In an Instagram post, GT Fish and Oyster said they will wrap up business by the end of the year.
Eater reports that some of their seafood menu items will migrate over to their sister restaurant, GT Prime Steakhouse.
No word on if the Boka Restaurant Group has plans for the space.

Located along the Chicago River, City Winery is a wine and cocktail bar, New American bistro, and nightclub.
Their location offers gorgeous views of the Loop skyline, the Chicago Riverwalk, Millennium Park, Grant Park, and Lake Michigan.
They have a full weekly lineup of music and comedy shows for the dinner hour and a lovely outdoor dining patio for lunch and weekend brunch.
I went to see live jazz while dining on a delicious Mussels dish using City winery white wine, jalapeno, garlic, shallot and cilantro butter sauce over spaghetti. Its an excellent place for bridal showers and birthdays.
From the famed fine-dining Gibsons steakhouse group, Gibsons Italia is an Italian-inspired steakhouse and restaurant in the Fulton River District.
Thrillist voted their rooftop patio as one of the best in Chicago. Gibsons Italia offers a chef-driven menu that puts a gourmet and creative twist on classic Italian food.
I recommend starting with a traditional dish of spicy rigatoni with vodka sauce and ricotta for a comforting beginning to an extravagant steak or seafood entrée.
Their filet mignon is the most tender Ive tried. Their exceptional food makes them perfect for wedding dinners.
Their perfectly bubbly and charred crusts are classic Neapolitan-style, topped with high-quality imported ingredients.

The Riverwalk is an award-winning walkway that stretches along the Chicago River. Along the way, you will find cool cafes, wineries, art, monuments, museums, and water activities.
If you start at Wacker Drive and walk to Lake Michigan, the length is about 1.5 miles. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and cafes along the way. You can sit along the corridor in numerous locations.
The Chicago River is one of my favorite places, so I highly recommend visiting this area. Its a lovely space for spending a day and there are some terrific riverwalk restaurants to enjoy everything from brunch to dessert.

Located on the south side of the Chicago River, the Chicago Riverwalk is one of the citys must-visit summer activities. Its a vibrant destination thats popular with Loop lunchtime crowds as well as tourists. A stroll down this 1.25-mile long path is like a mini-vacation.

Roka Akor, the Japanese-style restaurant chain known for sushi and steak, has partnered with The Macallan one of the worlds best-known Scotch distilleries for an unusual dining and drinking experience in River North.
Roka has converted Enolo Wine Cafe, which closed during the pandemic, into a new space called the M Room. The idea has grown from a pop-up into whats touted as The Macallans first permanent location . Customers will find food and rare Scotch when the bar debuts on Monday, December 19 at 450 N. Clark Street next door to Roka Akor.
