The Office Experience In Chicago
Part of my birthday celebration was a date to The Office Experience in Chicago. Located on Michigan Avenue, the event is an immersive experience that lets you visit Scranton, sit in your favorite characters desks and feel like you are on the show.
Tickets for the experience, which ends March 27 in Chicago, are timed, so you must reserve a time when you book. You are allowed into the experience in smaller groups, and you can spend as much time as you want at Dunder Mifflin. Sprinkled throughout are actual props from the show remember the stapler in Jello from Season 1? You can also see the actual outfits worn by the actors, all of which are courtesy of NBC.
While masks were required when we visited, along with proof of vaccination, there were photo opportunities where you were allowed to take off your mask. Associates would ask if we wanted them to take photos for us, which was always appreciated. There are so many Easter eggs hidden throughout, too. Check the drawers!
Each group has a chance to enter Michaels office on their own.
Its a one-way experience, so no backtracking! Take your time.
You might find glimpses of Ryans closet desk, the Finer Things Club, firewalking, Schrute Farms, and lots more. You can even make a dancing entrance as part of Pam and Jims wedding! Be sure to take a photo on the rocking chairs in front of Schrute Farms!
Remember the episode Beach Games? There are nods to that gem as well.
You might even see where Kevin spilled his chili!
You Can Have Parties Here
Heres the best part you can rent out the whole place for parties!
You and your party guests can have The Office Experience all to yourselves. Its fully customizable and available for different events such as cocktail hour, corporate events, lectures, and team outings.

You can touch most of the props, too. Just dont yank out anything thats glued down or behind display glass.

Interactive Rooms At The Office Experience
There are several areas with interactive components. You are invited to pick up the phones at several of the characters desks to listen to messages and open drawers to find elements from episodes. Open the refrigerator in the break room to find a surprise. Stick your head in the spaces in the wall at Schrute Farms to see who you should fear most of all and be prepared to see yourself as Mose. Lift the beets at the stand to hear some clever quips and characters talking about the most amazing vegetable in the world . Read the lines from cue cards to reenact the famous confession vignettes from the show. Stanleys crossword puzzles were a huge hit with my kids as they tested their knowledge of the show by writing in the answers with dry erase markers on the wall.

Review: The Office Experience Chicago
Are you a super fan of The Office? Then you wont want to miss The Office Experience at The Shops at North Bridge on the Magnificent Mile! We were invited to the press preview to give you an inside look at the experience and it was incredible. The level of detail to match scenes in the show, number of authentic props in each room that the actors used and wore, and interactive experience blew us away it was obvious that Superfly X and Universal Live Entertainment consulted with the creator of The Office, Greg Daniels to create the spaces.
This two-story experience features 17 rooms filled with original props and costumes, set re-creations and more as you visit Scranton Business Park and other sites associated with the series. There are great facts interspersed throughout like did you know that 57 billion hours of The Office was streamed over the last year?! Seeing the timeline of Jim and Pams love story was sweet, and they also have bios on all the characters with notable scenes that they appeared in.

Take A Look Inside Of The Office Experience Pop
We walked through a recreation of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch at the interactive pop-up.
You may not be ready to return to your office, but you may be tempted to visit the recreation of a fictional workplace that’s the centerpiece of Chicago’s latest pop culture pop-up. Developed by the same team that put together “The Friends Experience,” a two-floor space at 540 N Michigan Avenue now hosts “The Office Experience,” which is filled with painstaking replicas of sets from the beloved NBC show, screen-used props and plenty of opportunities to snap photos that will make you look like a resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Developed in collaboration with Universal and series creator Greg Daniels, “The Office Experience” is made of 17 rooms that allow you to walk through key locations and moments from the series. Nearly everything is interactive, which means that you can sit down at Michael Scott’s desk, open a drawer to reveal Dwight’s stapler encased in Jello and pick up phones throughout the the office to hear dialogue from the show. And there are plenty of details that fans will appreciate, from items from Dwight’s desk dangling in a vending machine to the presence of Utz- and Wegmans-branded snacks.
Amidst the various recreations, you’ll find some genuine, screen-used props and costumes from The Office, including various Dundies trophies, some of Pam’s sketchbooks and outfits that correspond to Michael Scott, Pam, Jim and Dwight.
