Right behind Willis Tower, as the second tallest building, is the John Hancock Center which, at 1,128 feet high, has nearly 100 floors, making it one of the most spacious buildings in Chicago, not to mention the United States.

This building has also been rated as one of the safest office buildings in America today due to its high-security features ensuring everyone who comes into this area remains safe at all times.

It is also the tallest rental apartment building and corporate center in Chicago.

However, these same features have also created some problems for residents since it is nearly impossible to get a permit for a home improvement project of any kind.

For instance, even routine maintenance tasks such as an air conditioning repair or a clogged kitchen sink drain may not be carried out without the proper paperwork being filed and approved by building officials first.

Excellent option if you want to tour Chicago, I chose the 5 attractions, I was able to choose the ones I wanted to see, I suggest choosing the bus since you can make several stops and see several places in 1 day, they offered me an upgrade for 10usd per person for 1 day additional bus but I did not take it anymore but it is a very good option when purchasing this pass you get a QR code which you show at the entrance of the attractions you want to visit and it is very practical, with this pass I was able to save about 40% of what I would have paid buying individually so it is convenient

Willis Tower : Chicagos Tallest Building

Skyline forms here: Shake

The Willis Tower is the citys tallest building completed in 1973. The structure is still considered one of Chicagos most iconic landmarks even after surpassing other structures throughout North America.

However, Willis Tower has recently come under scrutiny due to its structural integrity issues and its lackadaisical approach to building maintenance procedures such as window washing and exterior cleaning efforts.

Many of these issues date back when the building was referred to as the serious tower.

These problems could potentially result in loss or injury for some individuals working on this high-rise building or visiting it as a tourist.

Nevertheless, Willis Tower is still the tallest building in Chicago and the entire state of Illinois and remains on the list of the tallest billings in the nation!

Willis Tower Will be Dethroned Soon

However, this may not be the case for much longer since several new structures are being planned or have already been completed taller than Willis Tower.

Tribune Tower owners unveil plans for Chicago’s 2nd-tallest skyscraper

Construction in Chicago is going strong and tower cranes can be seen all over the city. The tallest buildings listed below include office towers, condominiums, and hotels. Here are 10 of the tallest buildings currently under construction:

1. Vista Tower – Per Chicago Curbed, this is a 1,186 Foot tall luxury hotel and condo tower and will become Chicago’s third tallest building. This skyscraper will be 93 stories tall and was designed by architect Jeanne Gang.

The structure will have 200 luxury hotel rooms and 406 private condominiums and is expected to open in 2020. The condo units in the building are going for sale from $1 million to $18 million each. 44% of the condos have been pre-sold already. One interesting fact is the use of 7 water filled tanks that will be placed on top of the tower. They are designed to help offset wind-induced swaying. When the wind is pushing the tower in one direction from one side, the water in the tanks will slosh in the other direction and this will keep the structure from swaying.

The project is jointly developed by Magellan Development Group and China’s Dalian Wanda Group. This building will have the distinction of being the tallest building in the world designed by a woman-led firm. When completed, the tower will trail only Willis Tower and Trump International Hotel & Tower .
