  • What are people saying about real estate services services in Chicago, IL?

This is a review for a real estate services business in Chicago, IL:

“Matt Liss was my wife and I’s realtor, and was fantastic at every step along the way. From the beginning of our search, to finding out our personal wants/needs, to lending his decades of experience in real estate while viewing properties – from the day we met to closing day. I could not write a better review for Matt. Matt was very patient while we learned about what we wanted, and never pushed us into anything. Countless times he looked out for our best interests when viewing properties, and took charge of finding us the home we desired. It is rare to find someone as dedicated as Matt in any industry, and I completely trust him with our best interests. I highly recommend his services and will use him for all our future real estate dealings.”

Remembering Larry Klairmont Founder Of Imperial Realty Company

Local real estate pioneer Larry M. Klairmont passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021. He was 94 years old.

Klairmont was born on December 17, 1926 and raised in the city of Chicago. Coming from a poor family, Klairmont worked a series of odd jobs to support his mother and younger sister. Among them, memorably, Klairmont was a Chinese food delivery boy and womens shoes salesman. He would go on to found two successful companies of his own: Imperial Cleaners and Imperial Realty Company, both based in Chicagoland.

When Klairmont was just 16 years old, he enlisted in the military to fight in World War II. As a combat Marine, the young Klairmont fought bravely in two of the wars deadliest battles: Saipan and Iwo Jima. For his service, Klairmont was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars and a Bronze Star. Returning from the war, Klairmont was a determined young man. In 1952, he established his first prosperous business, Imperial Cleaners. The 100-store dry cleaning chain was the largest in Chicago until 1962. After leaving the dry cleaning business, Klairmont purchased and renovated the oldest business building in Highland Park. And a love of real estate was born.

A celebration of Klairmonts life is being planned for the fall. Visit Chicago Jewish Funerals for upcoming info. Also see Klairmont Kollections Museum in Chicago, a non-profit founded by Klairmont in 2010 that displays an impressive collection of antique automobiles.

    Exp Realty Company Culture

Since eXp is a completely remote business with no brick-and-mortar locations, the only real option for developing a company culture is through a virtual environment.

eXp offers a LOT of livestreamed training and networking . A massive library of prerecorded material is also available on eXps virtual campus for agents to use at their convenience. Seriously, youll find thousands of hours of on-demand training on just about every subject you can think of.

Through these tools, its pretty clear that the eXp Realty company culture is all about providing agents and teams with the tools they need to create an individualized path that makes sense for their business. eXp Realty agents seem to be very excited about this sort of self-reliance and support.

We asked Gogo Bethke, a high-performing agent with eXp Realty, about training opportunities and company culture. Heres what she told us.

The best that Ive ever experienced on any level, period. There are so many different groups of eXp agents, so many different platforms that they provide access to.

And, you cant get more convenient than eXp. I could be sitting with my feet in the sands of Mexico and attend a live session on post-closing occupancy in the eXp virtual classroom. Ive been with multiple real estate brands across my career, I have never seen anything like what eXp offers.

Top Real Estate Investment Management Companies ...

Odds are, if youre here, its because of one of two scenarios

  • Youre a brand new broker who just got their license .
  • Youre already at a real estate firm and are contemplating a move.
  • Either way, Im going to do my best to help!

Im going to try it in a different way than most articles that tackle this subject. Id rather dispel some myths about what a brokerage firm offers. Theres so much marketing out there about what firms can do for you, and a good percentage of it is complete BS. So, lets get started with some of that!

Myth · A real estate firm deserves 30-50% of your commissions

This one is so obvious I feel like Im insulting your intelligence even bringing it up. If youre reading this article, you likely already think that a real estate company taking half of your income is insane. And heres how you know the firms that take 50% know that its a crappy split. The split isnt listed anywhere on their recruiting websites. If a firm wrote on their website, Hey, we pay 50%! you know what would happen? NOBODY would join that firm. So, how do they get people to sign up?

SOLUTION Choose a firm that pays a fair commission. I work at a firm that pays nearly 100% on all sales. We think thats fair. 530 brokers have joined our firm since we started paying almost 100%. And its not because Im so persuasive . Its because we pay whats fair!

    Myth · Training is everything!

    What? Training isnt important?

Myth · We have tons of buyer and seller leads!

    Wrong.

Why We Do What We Do

The 10 Best Chicago Real Estate Agencies In 2021

Helping clients find their place is our passion. See what people think about the end result.

“My husband and I were very nervous to start our home search. With our being extremely risk adverse and hesitant, we figured it would take a lot of time and stress to make it through the whole process. In our first meeting with Scott he walked us through everything and answered all our questions. We went from being really nervous to really excited in one visit!”

    Ryan & Lindsay Abney

“I came across this website when I began searching for condos in Chicago, and I was contacted shortly after by Michael. He helped me get started looking at condos, and I have to say deciding to work with Michael and Dream Town Realty was one of the BEST decisions I made in the home buying process.”

    Kelsey Sigman

“The company does such an amazing job at making their clients feel like family. With such a big company we could easily have felt like just another customer, but that isnt the case at all. Dreamtown even sends us care packages every season and were always so excited to receive them. Its such a special touch and makes Dreamtown stand out from the crowd.”

Century 21 Commission Options & Agent Fees

Similar to the situation with Coldwell Banker, the commission structure at Century 21 is fine, but nothing were crazy about, either. Just about everything is negotiated at the local level, so there isnt much we can tell you about here.

The one differentiator is that most Century 21 franchises dont charge a desk fee. Some major metropolitan markets, where office space is at a premium, will charge a monthly desk fee to literally have a desk, but this is optional.

Century 21 doesnt ask for a penny before you close a deal, which is helpful for a lot of agents, especially those who are new to the business.

How Exp Realty Agents Get Paid

The eXp Realty commission structure is simple and easy to understand. Similar to Keller Williams, eXp Realty also offers a revenue-sharing program for agents you recruit to join the brokerage. They also offer some stock options for high-performing agents. Here are the details.

    eXp Realty Commission Structure

Every agent in the company has a cap of $16,000. Splits are 80/20, and after you meet that cap, you keep 100% of your commissionsno desk fees, no royalty fees, no franchise fees.

    Pre-Cap Commissions
    $1,500 $6,000

    CLOSE INSIDER TIP:

    Revenue Sharing: Better Than Profit-sharing

Similar to Keller Williams, eXp Realty also offers passive income options, paying you a percentage of the commission made by any agent that you recruit.

While Keller Williams offers agents a share of PROFIT , eXp offers a share of REVENUE. This approach puts more money in the pockets of eXp Realty agents who can recruit. It also makes recruiting a potentially more profitable pursuit than at Keller Williams.

    Stock Options

eXp Realty also offers stock options to agents after theyve hit certain performance marks each year. Stock options generally only benefit high-performing agents, but anyone can work toward this goal, whether theyre working part time or full time.
