If your condition worsens, reach out to your doctor. This is particularly important if you experience more severe symptoms, are over 60, or have additional health issues. People with hypertension and diabetes, who have weak immune systems, who smoke, with underlying lung disease, or who take medicines to suppress their immune systems because they have cancer or an autoimmune condition are at higher risk for COVID-19.

Can I Receive Care If I’ve Recently Returned From A State Covered By The City’s Travel Order
Patients in need of medical care can continue to travel to UChicago Medicine from states on the city’s City of Chicago’s emergency travel order quarantine list. However, patients from the city’s list of high-risk states may have additional visitor limitations for portions of their hospitalizations.
In our outpatient clinics, patients returning from travel to high-risk states and international travel will continue to receive care in scheduled clinical areas provided they wear masks as required and follow our current policies. All patients will be screened at building entrances and those with COVID-19 symptoms will be referred to our Care Transitions Clinic.

Newswise The University of Chicago Medicine opened its new outpatient facility Tuesday, bringing exceptional academic medicine to patients in Chicagos south and southwest suburbs.
The $61 million Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park is UChicago Medicines largest off-site facility and the first of several dedicated outpatient locations operated by the Hyde Park-based academic medical center. The health system is in the midst of an ambitious expansion effort thats bringing care closer to patients homes. It merged with Ingalls Health System, which has a dozen outpatient locations in Chicagos Southland, earlier this fall. It plans to open the Center for Advanced Care at South Loop in February.
The clinic will provide unparalleled experience, offering extended daytime and weekend hours, an on-site pharmacy and same-day appointments in some specialties. Other amenities include complementary parking, self check-in kiosks and a patient-friendly operating model.

Can I Get Tested For Covid
Testing is available for those with COVID-19 symptoms, which include fever, cough, stuffy nose, sinus pain, difficulty breathing, inability to smell or taste and body aches. However, you must be screened before you can be tested. or complete a MyChart screening questionnaire. Our providers will determine if you are eligible to be tested at a curbside testing clinic.
Curbside testing is not available without an appointment. Drive-up swab collection visits typically take several minutes to complete. You will receive information on how to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms after your visit and will get follow-up phone calls with your test results in one to two days.

If you have an upcoming appointment with your provider, you may be contacted to set up a video visit. In some cases, we still need to see you in person and, if so, we will do everything to ensure your safety.
In addition to video visits, you can also connect with your provider remotely through e-visits or online second opinions.
Virtual visits are not for emergencies. If you have an urgent medical need, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department or urgent care facility. All patients who are able should utilize their online patient portal to communicate with their care teams.
One unintentional consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic is that many patients have delayed receiving needed care as they followed stay-at-home orders.

Orland Park testing launched May 12 Appointment-only services available to the public
The University of Chicago Medicine is expanding its curbside COVID-19 testing to its Orland Park outpatient location, adding a third drive-up clinic for the Chicagoland community.
The health systems Orland Park testing site opened May 12 and offers drive-thru COVID-19 testing to the general public. All testing will require an appointment.
UChicago Medicine has system-wide capacity to test up to 1,000 symptomatic people a day across its various locations, including its Hyde Park campus, Orland Park site and Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey. That figure includes inpatients, drive-up clinics and laboratory testing for a number of community partners. The addition of a new testing location in Orland Park allows for even greater capacity for community screening services in Chicagos south suburbs.
Members of the public, as well as established UChicago Medicine patients, are able to request COVID-19 tests by contacting the health systems triage screening lines . Viral testing is available to sick individuals of any age at UChicago Medicines Hyde Park location and to those who are 18 and older in Orland Park and at Ingalls Memorial.
Patients who meet testing criteria will be directed to schedule an appointment at curbside clinics. Established UChicago Medicine patients can also request an e-visit.

University Of Chicago Medicine Breaks Ground In Orland Park
The University of Chicago Medicine broke ground on its 108,000-square-foot, four-story ambulatory health care facility in Orland Park during a ceremony Tuesday in the southwest Chicago suburb.
The event marked the formal start of construction on the University of Chicago Medicine Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park. The groundbreaking included remarks by Sharon O’Keefe, University of Chicago Medical Center president, Kenneth Polonsky, MD, executive vice president for medical affairs at the University of Chicago, and Emily Nicklin, chairwoman of the medical center’s Board of Trustees. Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin also was on hand.
The facility, at 143rd Street and LaGrange Road, will be UChicago Medicine’s largest off-site location when it opens in late 2016 or early 2017.
“It is a privilege to bring the ‘Forefront of Medicine’ closer to home for Orland Park residents,” O’Keefe said. “We are elated to extend our brand into this region, continuing our mission to provide care to citizens across Illinois.”
The Center for Advanced Care at Orland Park will help meet the growing health care demands of the region in an outpatient setting. Plans include 80 exam rooms with services in radiation oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, cardiology, pediatrics, women’s health and surgical consulting.
