Altgeld Hall
Altgeld Hall, located at 1409 West Green Street in Urbana, Illinois on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus, was built in 1896-97 and was designed by Nathan Ricker and James McLaren White of the University’s architecture department in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The building was originally the University Library, and received major additions in 1914, 1919, 1926, and 1956. From 1927-55 it was used by the College of Law, and from 1955 on by the Department of Mathematics and the Mathematics Library. Student Body And Admissions
In Fall 2021, the university enrolled 7,559 undergraduate students, 10,893 graduate students, and 449 non-degree students. The college class of 2025 is composed of 53% male students and 47% female students. Twenty-seven percent of the class identify as Asian, 19% as Hispanic, and 10% as Black. Eighteen percent of the class is international.

Northwestern Selects Oregons Schill To Be Next President
EVANSTON, Ill. University of Oregon President Michael Schill will assume that office at Northwestern University this fall, the Evanston schools board of trustees announced Thursday.
Schill has led Oregon since 2015. He previously served as the law school dean at the University of Chicago and at UCLA. He earned a degree in public policy from Princeton University and a juris doctor degree from the Yale Law School.
I am thrilled, honored and humbled to join Northwestern, one of the worlds most prominent universities, Schill said in a news release. Northwestern has a long tradition of educating the brightest minds and pushing the boundaries of research and innovation.
Schill said he looked forward as the schools 17th president to building Northwesterns standing as an innovation hub for the Chicago area, Illinois and the nation.
His selection comes 16 months after Northwestern President Morton Schapiro announced his retirement after more than a decade leading the university. Rebecca Blank was named Schapiros successor last October, but she announced last month that she was diagnosed with cancer and would be unable to become president.
Peter Barris, the incoming chair of the Northwestern trustees. chaired the presidential search committee.
Law professor Jide Nzelibe was a faculty representative on the search committee.
Schills research has focused on affordable housing, land use and race discrimination in the housing market.
