The Postal Service has temporarily suspended international mail acceptance of Global Express Guaranteed to the following destinations:
- Brunei
- Norfolk Island
- Vietnam
Note: According to the US Postal Service, FedEx transports GXG shipments for them. FedEx has indicated that it suspended all services to the Central African Republic and Sierra Leone as well as some other countries.However, USPS did not include GXG service suspension in its notices for these two countries or any other country FedEx lists on its suspension list. We urge shippers to consult with US Post Office retail location before sending GXG shipments to any country on the FedEx suspension list.
Warning About Russia And Eastern Europe
Reuters reported on Sunday that Covid-19 cases are surging in Russia and several Eastern European countries, and this is the worst outbreak since the pandemic started.
Russia is accounting for nearly 40 percent of the regions cases, and Moscow will re-introduce lockdowns from Thursday, October 28. Other countries have loosened restrictions recently despite lagging vaccination rates, resulting in significant rises in Covid-19 cases.
Last week, Latvia ended up on our list of countries with service disruptions as the Latvian Post expects a service impact on postal operations due to the new restrictions.
